Birthday Celebration: Kogi Speaker Donates Food Stuff to Orphanage

As part of events to mark his 58th birthday anniversary, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Olushola Matthew Kolawole, Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly today visited Ministry of Mercy Orphanage in Crusher areas along Abuja – Okene Express way, Lokoja to donate food stuffs in commemoration of his birthday celebration.
According to him, he was delighted to once again visit the home which has been his yearly practice to celebrate with the motherless children, stressing that it is a privilege to be alive hence his decision to be with them.
He said this year’s celebration was unique because he would be rounding up his two term -tenure at the Kogi State House of Assembly in good health, stressing that it was the grace of God that helped him to paddle the leadership canoe of the 6th and 7th assemblies.
He commended the management and staff of the home for their giant strides in taking care of the children, prayed that God shall continue to bless them.
Responding on behalf of Pastor Daniel A. Edeh who is the Propietor of the Home, Mr Aliyu Samson, one of the teachers, appreciated the lawmaker for his contributions towards the welfare of the home.
He said there are 51 children between the ages of zero to 7yrs currently in the home while over two hundred children are in their headquarters in Otutulu community in Dekina Local Government Area of the state, urged all well meaning individuals to emulate the Speaker in supporting the less privileged in the society.
Other personalities who accompanied the Speaker include, Hon. Ahmed Dahiru, Majority Leader, Hon. Umar Isah Tenimu, Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Ademola Bello, Hon. Seyi Bello, Kabba/Bunu Member Elect, Hon Fola Dare, Chief Olugbemi Femi, Comrade Juwon Moses etc.
Items donated include Rice, Indomie noodles, chivita juice, beverages, soft drinks etc.
