The All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Ilorin Central state constituency ,Magaji Oba Abdulkadir, has distributed food palliative to indigents within his constituency to ease the hardship occasioned by cash crunch.
Distributing the foodstuff to the beneficiaries on Saturday in Ilorin, Abdulkadir said he decided to support over 1,000 needy people with food items considering the present scarcity of cash to purchase them in the market.
He however appreciated the AbdulRazaq Support Group (ASG) for supplying foodstuff, such as semovita, rice, beans, salt, sugar and corn, to cushion the financial pains on residents of Magaji Ngeri.
He explained that indigents in the 17 wards of his constituency were captured in the gesture, promising that he won’t rest on his oars until he put smiles on the faces of his people.
“Our party under Governor AbdulRazaq is committed towards ensuring better life for everyone in the state.
“I appreciate the AbdulRazaq Support Group who gave us the food items, though with my contribution. This and more are what our people will continue enjoying
“What informed this gesture is the hardship our people are confronting as a result of scarcity of fund. It is a hard time which is meant to better us, so, we will overcome it.
“Our people have money but they cannot access them in the bank. Our women are stranded, couldn’t go to the market just because of no cash.
“So, we felt the need to arrest the issue and see how we can manage it; this is what gave birth to t his empowerment,” he said.
Appreciating the gesture is one of the beneficiaries from Baboko Ward, Mr Abdulganiyu Owonije, who prayed for the success of Abdulkadir at the poll, stressing that he is the real candidate for the job.
Also, Mrs Hassan Sherifat from Baboko Ward, thanked Abdulkadir for the intervention at the present time when scarcity of Naira and Premium Motors Spirit (PMS) is eating deep on the economy of the state.
She charged everyone at Magaji Ngeri constituency to show better appreciation to the governor, his support group and their House of Assembly candidate by voting them into power at the upcoming poll.
Mr Aremu Yusuf, who was also one of the beneficiaries, described Abdulkadir as a compassionate politician who don’t play with the plight of his people.
“I’ve know our candidate for quite a while, he has soft compassionate heart and he’s always concern about the plight of the poeple.
” I know what he has spent ever since he got the ticket to run for the race.
This is the kind of person we want, we can be sure that he will represent us well.
“The foodstuff will go a long way to alleviate poverty particularly at this time that no one has access to his money in the bank,” Yusuf said
