APC Ijumu to sanctions any members caught indulging in anti-party activities

The leadership of the ruling All Progressive Congress in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State has threatened to sanction any member of the party caught in indulging in anti party activities in the area.

This was made known in a press statement personally signed by the executive chairman of the local government who doubles as the ALGON Chairman in Kogi State, Hon. Isa Taufiq and made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Saturday.

According to the statement, “It has come to our notice that some appointees, stakeholders,Ward Executives and Local Government Executives are moving round our wards with candidate of other parties ( most especially African Democratic Congress ADC)”.

“This therefore is to serve as a special warning and candid advice from leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijumu Local Government to all her members to desist from any anti party activities or any resemblance of such”.

He said the leadership of the party will not spear anyone no matter how highly place the person might be, stressing that it is disheartening for a former house of assembly member to be indulging in anti party, stressing that anymore caught going forward would be shown way out of the Party

“A few days ago, the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, Hon. Taufiq Isa with some party leaders while canvassing votes for All Progressives Congress House of Assembly Candidate,Hon. Omotayo Ishaya caught Former Kogi State House of Assembly Minority Leader, Hon. Yori Afolabi red handed, where he was holding meeting with ADC candidate at his residence in Iyah Gbede. Subsequently, his ward party executives expelled him”.

Taufiq said the All Progressives Congress is a party that uphold the rules of the law that will condone any form of anti party activities from any member.

“If you want to be in APC, stay and work for the party as no one will be allowed to stay in APC and be working for opposition parties”.

“The leadership of the party will continue to beam their search lights on every member of the party, most especially Leaders, Party Executives, Elected representatives and Appointees (State and Local), as we are aware that some in this category are the ones taking opposition candidates from one community to the other”.

He said the campaign council under the leadership of Hon Funsho Olumoko and the party chairman in Ijumu, Hon. Pual Babatunde will not leave any stone unturned to secure victory for the party in the forthcoming House of Assembly elections schedule to hold on 18th March, urged all members of party to close rank and work together for the overall success of the party at the poll.
