Celebration in Jos Jarawa as Mrs. Tamar Jibirang Clocks 60
By Peter Azi – Jos
The Provost of the School of Information Management, Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), Mrs. Tamar Jibirang, alongside her husband, family members and other well-wishers, celebrated her 60th birthday with a spectacular thanksgiving service at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Regional Church Council Headquarters, Jos Jarawa.
Expressing her joy and gratitude to Almighty God and appreciating her loving husband, the celebrant recalled with nostalgia her career journey at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, where she started as a clerical officer and rose through the ranks to retire as an Assistant Director in 2022, after completing the mandatory 35 years of service.
Earlier in his homily, Rev. Ishaku Afan, who took his Bible readings from Romans 12:15 and 1 Thessalonians 5:18, charged believers to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.
The cleric further stressed that this is a profound teaching and commandment from God, noting that it has become increasingly difficult nowadays for people to genuinely celebrate the successes and achievements of others because society is characterised by unhealthy competition and a lack of trust, even among believers.
He encouraged the celebrant to enjoy the blessings that come with attaining the age of 60 and to continue putting her trust in the Lord for greater accomplishments.
Goodwill messages came from Rev. Paul Mankam (Rtd.), Rev. David Ajang and the Chairman of RCC Jos Jarawa, who prayed for God’s continued grace, favour and blessings upon the celebrant and her family.
Other dignitaries who graced the thanksgiving service included Retired Rev. Yakubu Idi Azi, Retired Rev. Markus Atsen and Hon. Amos Gombi, among others.
The guests were subsequently entertained at the Synsamsali Event Centre, where family members, friends and well-wishers joined the celebrant in celebrating this remarkable milestone.
