Pastor and Mrs. Emma Aremu Celebrate 20th Wedding Anniversary in Jos
By Peter Azi – Jos
Bethel Methodist Church, Angwan Rukuba, in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, was on Sunday filled with dignitaries from all walks of life who gathered to celebrate with Mr. Emmanuel Aremu and his wife, Mrs. Folashade Aremu, as they marked 20 years of marital bliss.
The wedding anniversary thanksgiving service took place at the church auditorium, where family members, friends, associates and well-wishers joined the couple in thanking God for His faithfulness, love and preservation throughout their two decades of marriage.
In his sermon, the cleric took his Bible readings from 1 Timothy 2:13 and Genesis 2:4, emphasising the biblical account of the creation of man and woman.
He noted that Adam was formed by God before Eve, stressing that man bears the primary responsibility of providing spiritual leadership in the home and ensuring harmony within the family.
According to him, for a marriage and home to be Godly, a man must first understand his responsibility and be properly grounded in God’s principles.
He further stated that a man who has not been properly formed in character and responsibility should not expect his wife to provide what he himself has failed to demonstrate.
The cleric commended the couple for living a God-fearing life and serving as worthy examples of a Christian marriage and Godly family.
He also charged husbands to be loving, responsible and supportive partners to their wives, noting that peaceful homes are the foundation of a peaceful Church and society.
The highlights of the thanksgiving service included special prayers for the couple and their children, seeking God’s continued blessings, greater anointing, divine protection and longevity.
The celebration also featured the cutting of the wedding anniversary cake, while the couple and other well-wishers thrilled the congregation with their impressive dancing steps, adding colour and excitement to the memorable occasion.
