CG NFSS Applauds President Bola Tinubu For Approving The Establishment Of Forest Guards

The Commander General of Nigeria Forest Security Service, Dr. Joshua Osatimehin has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the establishment of Forest Guards in the country.
Dr. Joshua Osatimehin gave the commendation in Abuja while speaking with newsmen on Mr President’s approval on the establishment of the Forest Guards, Monday,May 19,2025.
He said the move would enhance effective security in the nation’s forested region.
“Honestly, I want to seriously thank and commend President Bola Tinubu for giving approval to the establishment of Forest Guards because the movie would further strengthen the internal security of our country, Nigeria and this is a positive step in the right direction therefore I want to appeal to all stakeholders to be committed to actualizing the objectives of Mr President’s approval on the Forest Guards ” the CG NFSS stated
According to the Commander General of NFSS, establishment of the Forest Guards will equally go a long way in actualizing the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu in the area of food Security and also the Security of lives and Properties.
“The Nigeria Forest Security Service has been in existence for about ten years now and we’re fully on ground in the 36 States of the Federation and the 774 Local Government Areas nationwide, our officers and men have been professionally trained by the Police, Nigeria Army, NSCDC and other formal security agencies within and outside the country on how to effectively safeguard the nation’s forested region as well as lives and property at the grassroots, thereby making us fit into Mr President’s plan of actions on the establishment of the Forest Guards, and we’re ever ready to continue to compliment the efforts of formal security agencies towards actualizing President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda in the area of security ” He explained.
Dr. Osatimehin stated that the Nigeria Forest Security Service had already put in place necessary structures towards realizing the President’s objectives on the establishment of the Forest Guards.
” Over the years our personnel had already gotten use to the forested areas, owning to the fact that most of our personnel operates within their local Government of origin, and as such they are at an advantageous position due to their understanding of the Connectivity and linkaging of the forested areas, even from one state to another”.
” So , Mr.President should ensure that the Nigerian Forest Security Service forms the fulcrum of the National Forest Guard” he said.
The Commander General of NFSS therefore called for the support of all stakeholders in the task of combating insecurity in the country.
