CG Olumode Adeyemi Samuel to Receive Prestigious Award for Public Safety Leadership

The Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, CG Olumode Adeyemi Samuel, has been selected to receive a prestigious award for Excellence in Public Safety Leadership by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.

The award recognises CG Olumode’s outstanding contributions to fire prevention, emergency response, staff welfare, and the modernization of the Federal Fire Service for improved national safety.
Since assuming office, CG Olumode has driven reforms in firefighting equipment, training, inter-agency collaboration, and public sensitization campaigns aimed at reducing fire disasters across Nigeria.
Announcing the honour, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper, Chief Olugbemi Femi, said the award celebrates leaders in the security and emergency sector whose work has saved lives and protected public assets.
“CG Olumode Adeyemi Samuel has demonstrated courage, professionalism, and visionary leadership. Under his watch, the Federal Fire Service has become more proactive and people-centered. He is truly deserving of this recognition for Public Safety Leadership,” Chief Femi stated.
The award will be presented on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 5:00pm during the Democracy Newsline Newspaper 16th Public Lecture and Induction into the Good Governance Hall of Fame holding at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.
The event will also feature a keynote lecture by Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA, Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Kogi State, and the induction of other distinguished Nigerians into the Good Governance Hall of Fame.
Chairperson of the occasion is Chief (Mrs) Moji Makanjuola, Veteran Broadcaster.
Special Guest of Honour is Hon. Mohammed Idris, Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
Patron is HRH Akogun Isiaq Ajibola, Former MD/CEO, Daily Trust Limited.
Grand Patron is Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, Former Member, Federal House of Representatives.
