Mrs. Moturayo Grace Obaro to Receive Prestigious Award for Community Development Service

Mrs. Moturayo Grace Obaro, wife of the Member representing Yagba East Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, has been selected to receive a prestigious award for Excellence in Community Development Service by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
The award recognises Mrs. Obaro’s humanitarian interventions, women and youth empowerment initiatives, and grassroots development programmes that have impacted communities across Yagba East and beyond.

Through her outreach efforts, Mrs. Obaro has championed health support for the vulnerable, educational assistance for indigent students, skills acquisition for women, and advocacy for inclusive community growth.
Announcing the honour, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Democracy Newsline Newspaper, Chief Olugbemi Femi, said the award celebrates individuals whose selfless service and commitment to humanity reflect the ideals of good governance and social responsibility.
“Mrs. Moturayo Grace Obaro has consistently shown that leadership also thrives through service to the people. Her dedication to uplifting lives and supporting community development makes her a worthy recipient of this award,” Chief Femi stated.
The award will be presented on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 5:00pm during the _Democracy Newsline Newspaper_ 16th Public Lecture and Induction into the Good Governance Hall of Fame holding at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.
The event will also feature a keynote lecture by Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA, Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Kogi State, and the induction of other distinguished Nigerians into the Good Governance Hall of Fame.
Chairperson of the occasion is Chief (Mrs) Moji Makanjuola, Veteran Broadcaster.
Special Guest of Honour is Hon. Mohammed Idris, Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
Patron is HRH Akogun Isiaq Ajibola, Former MD/CEO, Daily Trust Limited.
Grand Patron is Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, Former Member, Federal House of Representatives.
