Charles Ebuebu; Managing NBC in Renewed Hope Agenda,

The appointment of Dr Charles Ebuebu as Director General, Chief Executive Officer, (MD/CEO), National Broadcasting Commission, NBC came at a time when the Renewed Hope Agenda program of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was debuting and desiring action.

To consolidate the Agenda using the relevant template led to the appointment of Dr Charles Ebuebu to run the affairs of the commission in October, 2023.

Exposed to various administrative, political and technocratic knowledge, Ebuebu settled down by outlining the Renewed Hope Agenda,RHA, in line with his policy thrust in the new NBC.

On assumption of duty , Ebuebu prioritized staff welfare and development through constant trainings and retraining, with a view to meeting the expectations of his mandate and regulatory roles to Broadcasting industry in Nigeria.

Not long after his assumption of duty after appointment he held the annual “AFRICAST” program for 2023/2024 that attracted both local and international participants, private and public Broadcasting organizations, to reorient the practices of Broadcasting in Nigeria, particularly with digitisation of it’s activities.

The Director General ensured a successful program of AFRICAST few months at the mantle of leadership, and subsequently created employment opportunities for staffers on contract appointment and unemployed Nigerians to bridge the gap of understaffing in the commission.

He pursued vigorously the process of attaining full digitization from analogue from mere pronouncements to action, and also injected new system of supervision into the organization.

Dr Ebuebu placed partnership with both local and foreign media organizations, Ministries, Departments and Agencies MDA’s of government above board, that ensured optimum performance realized without infractions.

He placed the full digitization process above board and ensured it’s implementation to the later , while introducing series of reforms and innovations into the activities of NBC.

Two years down the line , Dr Ebuebu has attained and achieved reasonable success in accordance with the Renewed Hope Agenda, RHA, through transformation and innovations in the new NBC.

With the Renewed Hope Agenda, RHA template, no doubt , the NBC will compete favourably with both local and foreign broadcasting regulators with a view to providing sane policy thrust and framework.
