Chief Henry Omotosho Akeweje to be honored with Community Development Award

A business mogul and community development enthusiast who is the chairman and chief executive officer of Newmoon Nigeria Limited, Chief Henry Omotosho Akeweje is set to be honored with the Community Development Services Award by Democracy Newsline Newspaper. According to Elder Olalekan Aiyenigba, the Executive Editor of Democracy Newsline Newspaper, Chief Akeweje has been a long-standing personality who has consistently supported community development efforts either his origin or host community where he resides.
He said the prestigious award will be presented during the 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony scheduled to hold on August 26, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja. The program will commence with a red carpet at 5 pm, followed by the main event at 6 pm, and a dinner program.

The theme of the event is “The Role of Independent Media Organizations in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria.” The event will feature guest speakers and key stakeholders from various sectors. Additionally, the occasion will be used to launch a ₦100 million fund for the procurement of podcast studio equipment and the establishment of Democracy Newsline Newspaper Online Television.
