Church Services and Sallah celebration Going on Peacely in Jos.

By Azi Peter – Jos

Today being Sunday, the Holy Day of Christians and also a day for Sallah Celebration, Christians are trooping in various Churches for worship in Jos and Bukuru Metropolis, our Correspondent moves round and observes the mood in the town as the day coincided with the Celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, and it is busy day for the both believers of the two religions Mosque and Churches are of the beehive of activities this morning.

The Tin City is calm and serene without any hitches as there is smooth flow of traffic as the Plateau State Police Command in statement through the P.P.R.O, Alfred Alabo, said movement of Commercial Tricycles which are known as Keke Napep has been restricted during the Sallah celebration, the statement further reiterates the total banned on Commercial motorcycles (Okada) within the State Capital.

These and many more are helpful to the peaceful celebration in the state.

The Command also released her officers in strategic Roundabouts such as Kugiya Market,Polo, Secretariat Junction, British America Junction,Gangare Junction and others.

Though few Tricycles were seeing moving around.

The Eid-el-Fitr Celebration which is Celebrated at the Islamic Month of Shawal after the Month of Ramadan, what is special and unique about the celebration in Jos is the way the Christians join their Muslims counterparts in the celebration by sending them gifts, messages of felicitations and physically join them as they partake in eating and drinking.

Peaceful celebration of Sallah celebrations in the State is attributed to the Peaceful disposition of the citizens,Security Agencies and Government.
