Coach Jacob Dennis Albert Dede sets the stage for an electrifying showdown at the Top-notch softball talents gathers in the 3rd edition of Prof. Ndi Okereke Senior Championship in Port Harcourt

***announces impressive cash prizes for the prestigious Prof. Ndi Okereke Championship

The much-anticipated Prof. Ndi Okereke Senior Softball Championship, now in its third edition, is set to kick off in Port Harcourt from the 11th to the 18th of November 2025 at the Garden City.

The tournament, sponsored by Coach Jacob Dennis Albert Dede, promises to be an exciting showcase of talent and skill in the world of softball.

Coach Jacob has announced a generous cash prize for the Senior Female category, with the 1st prize winner set to receive ₦1,000,000.00, the 2nd prize winner ₦500,000.00, and the 3rd prize winner ₦300,000.00. This significant amount is sure to add an extra layer of competition to the tournament and motivate teams to give their all on the field.

Coach Gerard Hall from Washington DC will be present at the tournament to provide technical support, showcasing his expertise and enhancing the level of competition at the Prof. Ndi Okereke Senior Softball Championship.

The tournament is a way for Coach Jacob Dennis Albert Dede to honor the former Director-General of the Nigeria Stock Exchange, Prof. Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke, and her impactful contributions towards the development of Baseball and Softball in Nigeria. It is also a platform for showcasing the talent and dedication of softball players from across the country.

Teams from all over Nigeria are expected to participate in this year’s championship, including well-known names such as Adekalu Bulls, Team Delta, Bayelsa blue Waves, Ikorodu hitters,
Team kwara, De Wills Softball, Badagry angels,
Team Osun, Team kaduna, Team Rivers, Team Enugu, Team Imo, Promise Softball akwa ibom, Baptist high Softball, Bishop Rolands, Team Abuja and Team Niger.

The tournament will also feature a U-12 Male category focused on development, highlighting the importance of nurturing young talent in the sport.

With the support of the Nigerian Baseball and Softball Federation and the Fastpitch Softball Committee, the Prof. Ndi Okereke Senior Softball Championship promises to be a thrilling event that celebrates the passion and skill of softball players in Nigeria. Fans and supporters are eagerly awaiting the start of the tournament, ready to witness the outstanding display of athleticism and sportsmanship on the field.
