Prominent Niger Delta Humanitarian Activist and Community leader, President of Peace Development Security and Humanitarian Rights Association of Niger Deltans, Comrade Mike Jk Tiemo, has applauded the magnanimous gesture of High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, following his recent donation of ₦10 billion as the Chief Launcher to the Delta State Security Trust Fund.
The donation, made just some days ago, has sparked widespread commendation across the state and beyond, with various stakeholders hailing Tompolo’s unwavering commitment to regional peace and national development.
In a statement, made in Warri Comrade Mike J K Tiemo described Tompolo’s contribution as “monumental, selfless, and deeply patriotic.” He further emphasized that such a landmark gesture deserves national recognition and has called on the Federal Government to bestow upon High Chief Tompolo a National Excellence Award for his continued role in the development and growth of the Niger Delta ,stabilizing the region and boosting the national economy.
While expressing his appreciation, Tiemo urged the Delta State Government , His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori
to channel the ₦10 billion donation into more sustainable and development-oriented initiatives. He specifically proposed the establishment of two modular refineries , one in Gbaramatu Kingdon , while the second one should be sited in Egbema Kingdom in Warri North LGA. He also proposed the establishment Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Annex training centre in Orerokpe, Delta State.
According to Comrade Mike J K Tiemo such investments would not only complement the security goals of the trust fund but will also significantly enhance youth employment, promote capacity building, and catalyze industrial growth in the Niger Delta region there by terminating crime.
“The conversion of these funds into modular refineries will create thousands of jobs, reduce illegal refining, and foster economic self-reliance in our region,” Tiemo stated. “Furthermore, establishing an NDA annex in Orerokpe will give our youths access to quality military education , training, and position Delta State as a center for defense excellence in Southern Nigeria.”
Mike Tiemo also commended the impactful operations of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, a firm owned by High Chief Tompolo, whose activities have been instrumental in curbing oil theft and securing critical national assets across the Niger Delta. He credited Tantita for helping to restore investors confidence and stabilize Nigeria’s oil output, thus contributing immensely to the national economy.
High Chief Tompolo is a rare patriot, through Tantita, he has protected our oil infrastructure, safeguarded lives, and ensured trillions in revenue for the federal government. It is only right that his effort is rewarded and supported with long-term development projects,” Tiemo added.
Comrade Mike Tiemo the Humanarian Activist concluded by calling on the federal, state, and regional stakeholders to align with this vision, stressing that true security is rooted in economic opportunity and educational empowerment. He urged policymakers not to allow this historic donation to be underutilized but rather transformed it into a legacy project that would shape the future of the Niger Delta for generations to come.
He pointed out saying: “Let us not only celebrate this donation but also use it wisely. With modular refineries and an NDA annex , we are not just spending money—we be building a future tiemo concluded.
