Commander Omodara distributes farm implements, food stuffs to farmers, gives scholarship to three indigent students in Bunu

The State Security Adviser to the Government of Kogi State who doubles as the General Coordinator of Okun United for Ododo/Joel Project, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd) has distributed farm implements and foodstuffs to farmers in Bunuland.
Speaking at the event which was held yesterday at his residence in his country home, Oke-Offin in Olle-Oke-Offin Ward of Bunu District of Kabba-Bunu local government area of Kogi State, north central Nigeria, he said in his usual practices and as part of his contributions as an appointee of the new direction administration led by Governor Yahaya Bello in Kogi State, he decided to procure and distribute the farm implements to the farmers in the area, as that will go a long way to assist them in that regards.
He noted that the efforts are also geared toward ameliorating the hardship due to the removal of the petroleum subsidy which has made prices of goods and services to skyrocket and made such implements out of the reach of the peasant farmers in the area.
He said the people should keep hope alive as the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working hard to bring succor to the people as he is aware of the hardship Nigerians are going through due to the subsidy saga, stressing that each state of the federation has been given five billion naira to cushion the effect of the removal of the petroleum subsidy.
Commander Omodara (rtd) said two billion out of the money will be used to procure grains for onward distribution to all households in the state, urging them to exercise patience with the government as things will change positively for the betterment of the citizenry.
He appealed to the people to continue to give their maximum support to the APC led government in the state, pointing out that the people should take advantage of the newly established State owned university sited in Kabba for those who have the required qualification to apply to work in the institution.
He urged all electorate in Okunland to vote en-mass for the APC as the candidate of the party, Alhaji Ododo Ahmend Usman possesses the cognate experience to consolidate on the achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello in all sectors of the state economy.
Earlier, the member representing Kabba-Bunu State Constituency, Hon. Seyi Bello who was represented by Mr Stephen Oloniyo commended Commander Jerry Omodare (rtd) for his magnanimity to continue to identify with the people especially the vulnerable groups.
He used the occasion to appreciate the people for their massive support before, during and after the just concluded general election that gave him the victory to represent the constituency at the state level, stressing that without their votes he would not have been where he is politically.
He assured them that as member of the 8th assembly of the Kogi state House of Assembly, he will work with his colleagues to make laws that will promote good governance for the state and also as the House Committee Chairman on Agriculture and Natural Resources, he will give his maximum support to any effort that will continue to assist farmers in the state.
The APC Local Government Chairman in Kabba-Bunu, Comrade Solomon Jemibawon and the party chairman in Olle-Okeofin ward in Bunu District, Mr Matthew Ogunsanmi in their separate remarks, commended the State Security Adviser for his regular empowerment programs for the people not only in Bunu district but that of the entire Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency.
Jemibawondo said he is impressed with the performances of Commander Omodara as he remained one of the outstanding appointees of government in the local government, stressing that this will be the third time within a space of one year that he has been inviting him to attend such programs, a feat no other appointee has achieved in the area, urging him to continue in the light.
He called on the people of the community to support him as he remains the light of the area that can facilitate developmental projects to the community.
He pointed out that the forthcoming governorship election in the state affords them the opportunity to demonstrate their love for him as a sign of reciprocation to his kind gesture to them always.
He said there is no gainsaying to have APC led by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja and allow other parties to take charge in the state, pointing out that it will be of great benefits to have APC government in Abuja and Lokoja respectively.
The party Chairman said the enormous opportunities embedded in the success of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman and the APC in the November 11 governorship cannot be quantified hence the need for them to vote en-mass for the party, stressing that if truly the people of Okun extraction want to produce the next governor of the state, why do they have three candidates despite knowing that their population cannot be compared to the other senatorial districts in the state.
He said it is not that OKun will not produce the governor of the state but it may not be now, it may be later, stating that he believes Okun and Ebira have come a long way from old Kwara state, hence after Ododo, Okun will produce Governor of Kogi State by the grace of God.
Also speaking, His Royal Highness, Oba James Adeniyi Ayinmode, the Oluwoa of Oke-Offin Bunu described Commander Jerry Omodara as a ambassador of not only Oke-Offin community but that of the entire Bunuland considering his activities to see how developments to go through in area.
He said whatever he is doing today is not new to them because right from his days in the Navy and as the President of Oke-Offin Development Association, he always initiates programs to give back to the people; hence he is a man that is always ready share whatever he has with the people.
He said the community will continue to pray for him and also support whatever ideas he believes in as with that the community will be better for it.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to newsmen commended Commander Omodara for the kind gesture, promised to make judicious used of the items, nothing that empowerment programs like such has become a phenomenal with the Oke-Offin, Bunu born Navy officer turned politician.
