The Chairman of the Delta State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Chief Solomon Arenyeka JP, Yesterday Sunday 15th March 2026 Commissioned the newly equipped and furnished Warri South Local Government APC Secretariat located at Esisi Road GRA in Warri, describing the development as a major boost to the party’s grassroots mobilization drive ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commissioning ceremony, which drew a large gathering of party chieftains, elected officials, elders, leaders, youths and women , also marked the commencement of a crucial Stakeholders’ Meeting aimed at strengthening the unity of the Party within Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Speaking shortly before performing the symbolic ribbon-cutting to declare the secretariat open, the Delta APC Chairman commended party leaders and faithful in Warri South for their unwavering solidarity and commitment to the growth of the party.
Hon Chief Solomon Arenyeka the New Delta State APC Chairman particularly praised the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, Hon. Comrade Isaac Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, for shouldering the responsibility of renovating and equipping the facility to enable the party executive effectively run its affairs.
Hon Chief Arenyeka also expressed gratitude to the Warri South APC leadership for organizing a grand reception in his honour, noting that the collaborative efforts of party leaders across the Warri Federal Constituency demonstrated the unity and strength of the APC family. According to him, the impressive secretariat stands as a shining example that other local government chapters of the party across the state should emulate.
“This secretariat is indeed awesome,” he declared. “I thank all the leaders of the APC in Warri South LGA. I am proud of Warri South and I intend to use what has happened here as a template for other local government areas.” He urged party faithful to demonstrate unwavering loyalty to the party, advising them to “eat APC, drink APC, sleep with APC and wake up with APC.”
In his remarks, the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, Hon. Comrade Isaac Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, assured the state chairman that APC in Warri South remains united and formidable. He stated that the unity within the party places it in a strong position to secure a landslide victory in the 2027 elections. According to him, the party structure in Warri South is inclusive, with youths, women, elders and grassroots mobilizers all playing vital roles for the collective progress of the Party.
Quoting renowned Prussian military theorist Carl von Clausewitz, Agbateyiniro noted that politics is often described as warfare by other means, but he expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in the coming political contest. He declared that the local government is fully prepared to deliver overwhelming support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda and for Sheriff Oborevwori in continuation of the state’s MORE Agenda.
Also speaking at the event, the member representing Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Chief Thomas Eriyotomi JP, expressed confidence in the political strength of Warri South APC, saying the Warri South local government has consistently delivered electoral victories for the party. With what he described as the collapse of opposition structures, he predicted a “superlative victory” for the APC in the next electoral cycle.
Earlier in his welcome address, the APC Chairman of Warri South LGA, Hon. Richard Pessu, appreciated party leaders, elders and the state chairman for honouring the occasion. He reserved special commendation for the council chairman for sponsoring the secretariat project and also applauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for transforming Delta State through the MORE Agenda, which he said has made political campaigns easier for the party.
Several other stakeholders including Hon. Dr. Joseph Otumara, Hon. Dr. Augustine Uroye, Hon. Chief Benson Obire, Chief Peter Agiri and Prof. Chief Israel Abido in their various speeches described the APC in Warri South as a united political family poised for victory. The event was moderated by Hon. Dr. Hope George, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, who told journalists that the Renewed Hope initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori have positioned the APC as one of the fastest growing political parties in Africa. He noted that the wave of defections into the party across the country is a clear indication of growing public confidence in its leadership.
