Delta HOSTCOM Commissions Eight Buses, Salutes Oborevwori, Okowa, DESOPADEC

By Wilson Macaulay

The Delta State Chapter of the Host Communities Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM) has officially commissioned eight Toyota Sienna buses to enhance the day-to-day operations of the organization.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Delta State HOSTCOM Chairman, Comrade Sunday Enujeke, emphasized that the procurement and commissioning of the buses effectively dispel all forms of speculation and blackmail directed at his executive leadership.

Comrade Enujeke explained that six of the buses are designated for the Chairmen of the six ethnic nationalities in Delta State, while the remaining two are assigned to the offices of the State Chairman and Secretary, respectively. He also disclosed that all vehicles have been properly registered, and each has been allocated ₦200,000 for fueling purposes.

Highlighting the gesture as the second phase of the organization’s capacity-building program, Enujeke noted that the first phase involved the empowerment of hundreds of indigent persons from oil- and gas-bearing communities through the respective ethnic Chairmen. He further revealed that the third phase—renovation of the HOSTCOM National Secretariat—is currently ongoing and nearing completion.

Reflecting on the progress made under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, Enujeke stated that this initiative aligns with the vision of sustainable development and stands as a legacy of his administration.

He expressed profound gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for approving the funds and for his consistent fatherly support. He also acknowledged former Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Management for their instrumental roles in making the project a reality.

Comrade Enujeke concluded by reaffirming his commitment to continued mobilization and advocacy for the welfare of residents in oil- and gas-producing communities across the state.
in line with the MORE AGENDA of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Chief Andrew Agoyo, Chairman of the Urhobo Ethnic Nationality in HOSTCOM, praised the initiative and expressed gratitude for the recognition and inclusion of the six ethnic nationalities in the logistics upgrade.

“This gesture by our State Chairman has not only empowered us but also reaffirmed that this administration is committed to equity and transparency. On behalf of my fellow ethnic nationality Chairmen, I say thank you for this landmark effort. It will go a long way in enhancing our field operations, unity, and coordination,” Chief Agoyo stated.

In a heartfelt vote of thanks, Comrade Joseph Lamienghan, Secretary of Delta State HOSTCOM, lauded the leadership of Comrade Enujeke for his strategic approach to capacity development within the body.

“Today is a remarkable day in the history of Delta State HOSTCOM. The commissioning of these vehicles is a clear demonstration of purposeful leadership. We sincerely thank Governor Oborevwori, former Governor Okowa, and the DESOPADEC team for their unwavering support. We also thank our Chairman, Comrade Enujeke, for his visionary leadership, dexterity and unvawary focus .The journey continues, and we remain committed to building a stronger, united, and a happier HOSTCOM,” Lamienghan remarked
