Kogi CP Strengthens Ties with Judiciary, Key Stakeholders
The Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has paid a courtesy visit to the Presiding Judge of the Federal High Court, Lokoja Judicial Division, Hon. Justice Isah Dashen.
This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi State Command SP, William Aya and made available to newsmen in Lokoja.
According to him, the visit, which was aimed at paying condolences on the passing of Hon. Justice D.D. Abutu (Rtd), former Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Abuja, also provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss ways of enhancing collaboration between the Police and the Judiciary.
CP Dantawaye emphasized the importance of synergy between law enforcement agencies and the judiciary in upholding the rule of law, stressing that for justice to thrive, the Police and judiciary must work hand-in-hand.
The CP reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to collaboration and professionalism in the collective pursuit of justice and order in Kogi State.
Hon. Justice Isah Dashen appreciated the visit, describing it as timely and thoughtful. He expressed the court’s readiness to continue working harmoniously with the Police in discharging their constitutional responsibilities.
The Presiding Judge commended CP Dantawaye for the good work the Command is doing in ensuring adequate security of lives and property in Kogi State.
In a related development, CP Dantawaye engaged with lawyers and student lawyers in the courtroom, fostering a stronger relationship between the Police and the Bar.
The CP also received a delegation from the National Iron Ore Company, Itakpe, led by the Ag. Sole Administrator, Engr. Festus Isinmdun, where both parties discussed ways of strengthening their relationship.
The visits are seen as a significant step towards enhancing collaboration and promoting peace and security in Kogi State.
