By Temiloluwa Samuel
Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has felicitated Nigerians on Democracy Day, calling on citizens to recommit to unity, justice, and good governance as the foundation for national progress.
In his Democracy Day message released Friday, the senator said the day celebrates the enduring strength of Nigeria’s democratic system and the resilience of the Nigerian people through decades of challenges and growth.
“Today, we celebrate the enduring strength of our democracy and the resilience of the Nigerian people. As we reflect on our journey as a nation, let us recommit ourselves to the values of unity, justice, and good governance that bind us together,” Senator Karimi stated.
He expressed hope that democracy would continue to deliver peace, progress, and opportunities for all Nigerians, regardless of background or location.
The message ended with the slogan *#RenewedHope*, in line with the current administration’s agenda.
Senator Karimi represents the seven LGAs of Kogi West. Democracy Day, observed annually on June 12, marks Nigeria’s return to civilian rule in 1999 and honors the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election.
