DG Okun United for Ododo/Joel Commends Arc. Yomi Awoniyi for dumping PDP
Director General, Okun United for Ododo/Joel and newly appointed member of the Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Barrister Alfred Bello has commended the former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi on his decision to leave the main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as a right step taken at the right time.
He disclosed this in a press statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Lokoja, saying there is no doubt about the fact that Okun nation need a visionary leader like him to join others in pulling the people of the area out of political doldrums of opposition to the ruling party.
That it’s only through a ruling party that one can get the people and community empowered.
He said the politics of opposite party can no longer help the people hence it is time to discourage as much as possible ethnic politics and play the game according to the rules devoid of bitterness and hatred but to build on the spirit of oneness for the sake of the development of the state.
He said with the looks of things in the unfolding political developments in the state, the APC remain the only formidable platform that will unite all interests in the state, stressing that all Kogites should live above board of politics that promote ethnic agenda rather than that of the State.
