Dr. Folabora Bryhm Celebrate the Indomitable Spirit of Our Women on International Women’s Day

As we commemorate the International Women’s Day, it is with great pleasure that we pay tribute to our remarkable women whose unwavering dedication, unrelenting perseverance, and phenomenal accomplishments have left an indelible mark on their community and beyond.

This momentous occasion provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress made towards gender equality, while also acknowledging the challenges that still need to be addressed. As we celebrate the achievements of our women, we are reminded of the immense potential that lies within each and every one of them.

To the young women, we offer these words of encouragement: your future is bright, and it is yours to shape. As you navigate the complexities of life, remember that a moral life, guided by values such as hard work, dedication, and compassion, will serve as your foundation.
Emulate the examples set by trailblazing women who have paved the way for you, and strive to make a positive impact in your community and beyond.

The Theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, *”Accelerate Action”* serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of female solidarity and support. As women, there must be a collective responsibility to uplift and empower one another, creating a ripple effect of positive change that resonates throughout our communities.

As we celebrate the achievements of women all over the Word, Nigeria and Kogi State in particular, we honour their contributions to various fields, including education, healthcare, politics, and entrepreneurship. We recognize the invaluable role that they play in shaping the socio-economic and cultural fabric of our communities.

However, despite the progress made, women in, like their counterparts around the world, continue to face numerous challenges. They must contend with issues such as gender-based violence, limited access to education and healthcare, and economic inequality.

In order to address these challenges, it is essential that we work together to create a more just and equitable society. We must strive to eliminate the systemic barriers that prevent women from realizing their full potential, and we must promote policies and programs that support women’s empowerment and advancement.

As we move forward, let us draw inspiration from the countless women who have made significant contributions to the development of their fatherlands. Let us celebrate their achievements, and let us continue to support and empower them.

To our women, we offer our sincerest appreciation for all that you do. May your voices be heard, may your rights be respected, and may your contributions be recognized. You are the backbone of your community, and your strength and resilience are a source of inspiration to us all.

As we celebrate the 2025 edition of the International Women’s Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to creating a world where women and girls can thrive. Let us work together to build a brighter future, one that is founded on the principles of equality, justice, and human rights.

Do have the best of celebrations.
