Dr. Rufus Idris aka Idrufem Wins Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Dr. Rufus Idris Femi, also known as Idrufem, has been named the winner of the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, 2025 by Democracy Newsline Newspaper. Dr. Idris is the Country Director of AGRA, an African institution supporting inclusive agricultural transformation and sustainable food systems, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Peacock Hotel and Suites in Kabba, Kogi State.
According to a press statement signed by the publisher and CEO, Chief Olugbemi Femi, Dr. Idris’s exceptional entrepreneurial prowess in managing multiple enterprises has created wealth and opportunities for the younger generation to be empowered economically.

He said the award recognizes his outstanding leadership skills and contributions to the socioeconomic development of his immediate environment and society at large.
The award will be presented during the 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony on August 26, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja by 5pm, adding that the ceremony will feature a Red Carpet Ceremony, main event, and dinner program.
The theme of the event is “The Role of Independent Media Organizations in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria.”
The occasion will also mark the launch of a ₦100 million fund for podcast studio equipment and the establishment of Democracy Newsline Newspaper Online Television, aimed at promoting democracy and good governance in Nigeria.
The award ceremony promises to be a significant event, bringing together leaders and stakeholders to discuss important issues and celebrate excellence.
