Ebbe, Kupa Boat Mishap: Rep. Salman Idris Expressed Heartfelt Condolence to Kogi State Government, Affected Communities.

Hon. Salman Idris , representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, has extended his heartfelt condolences to families of deceased , affected community and Kogi state government following the tragic boat accident in Kupa Ebbe Village.

The incident, which occurred on Thursday, November 28, 2024, resulted in significant casualties when a boat transporting passengers from Kupa Ebe to Katcha Market capsized near Kpata Danbo. Despite rescue efforts, many lives were lost, and several others are still feared dead.

Honourable Salman praised the swift response of the Kogi State Government, led by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, in providing relief materials to affected families and ensuring survivors receive adequate medical attention. He commended the government’s proactive actions, which led to the rescue of some victims, thereby reducing casualties.

The lawmaker Aligns with Kogi State Government in calling for strict safety measures in marine operations across the state and the nation at large , urging operators to avoid night voyages and adhere to safety protocols to prevent similar incidents. Hon. Salman’s condolence message echoes the government’s commitment to supporting affected families and preventing future tragedies.
