‘EDUCATION OPENS THE DOOR, BUT YOUR NETWORK TAKES YOU IN’ – ASIWAJU PRINCE OLATUNJI TELLS YOUTH

Chairman of Grosvenor Group of Companies and Founder of Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation, PROOF, Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji has urged young Nigerians to combine sound education with strong relationships if they want to succeed in life.

Speaking in a recent interview, Asiwaju Olusoji said while education remains the foundation, it alone cannot guarantee success in today’s world.

_“There is a limit to where your education can take you to. The others are the people you know. So your network is your net worth? Of course,” he said.

The businessman and philanthropist advised young people chasing success to start with self-belief, discipline, and faith.

_“First of all, you have to believe in yourself. Then, main focus, hard working and prayer. I believed that I was going to be successful in life. I knew what I wanted. And I put so much work into it. And God helped me,”_ he stated.

When asked about the role of education, he described it as _“key”_ but not sufficient on its own.

_“Education is key, but it’s not the only thing you need for success. You have to build bridges too. Nowadays, it has to do with connection. People you know. Not only your education,”_ he explained.

Asiwaju Olusoji, who is known for his youth empowerment initiatives through the PROOF Foundation, said his personal guiding principle is that education transforms lives.

_“I have a popular quote: ‘Education can change a person’s story.’ To me, it gave me a lot of opportunity. So first of all, every young person should try as much as possible to be educated. However, education is not what is going to take you to where you are going to. But you need it. It’s the first step to success,”_ he said.

He concluded by encouraging the younger generation to invest in both learning and relationships, noting that success today is built at the intersection of knowledge, hard work, and the people you meet along the way.
