EFCC Recovers N7.8 Million BIPC Corruption Proceeds

Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) has said that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recovered from past officials of the company, N7.8 million being proceeds of corruption.
The Company also explained that the EFCC has already handed to the Company, a draft cheque of the money, pointing out that more recoveries were underway.
Dr Raymond Asemakaha, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), of the company, disclosed this in Makurdi, late Tuesday evening in a statement issued by the BIPC media team.
While Asemakaha insisted that the steps taken by EFCC would strengthen the integrity of the Agency, the prompt response of the Agency was an indication of its dedication and professionalism.
According to the statement, “Dr. Asemakaha said the recovery of funds for the Benue Investment and Property Company is a positive step in strengthening the integrity of the agency and promoting a culture of accountability under the leadership of His Excellency, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia.
“This successful recovery underscores the importance of robust investigative procedures and the commitment to upholding integrity in financial transactions.”
The BIPC boss also stated that the prompt and efficient action taken by EFCC, not only showcases the dedication and professionalism of the antigraft body, but also underscores their commitment to upholding justice and combating financial crimes within Benue and the nation at large. End.
