EFCC TO STRENGTHEN INTER-AGENCY RELATIONSHIP WITH PCC, CREATES DESK OFFICE FOR PUBLIC COMPLAINTS

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Benue State has welcomed the drive by the Honourable Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission in Benue State, James Oche for inter-agency collaboration in the course of performing their functions.

The EFCC Zonal Director, Mr Anselm Ozioko stated this when he played host to officials of the Benue State Office of the Public Complaints Commission led by the Honourable Federal Commissioner in charge of the State, Rt. Hon (Chief) James Oche Ogaba who paid a courtesy call on him at the Zonal Headquarters of the EFCC in Makurdi on 7th November, 2024.

Furthermore, the Zonal Leader of the anti-graft agency said that there would be confidential exchange of vital information between the offices in the course of intelligence gathering. This, he added, was to purge the State of vices like bank and Internet fraud popularly known as yahoo, illegal mining and other forms of financial and economic crimes, in furtherance of which a desk office for Public Complaints has been created within the EFCC.

Earlier in his address on the essence of the visit, Hon. Oche had solicited for strong synergy and indissoluble partnership with the EFCC for both agencies to work better in serving the nation. Mr. Oche also adviced the EFCC to send a written request to the Executive Governor of Benue State soliciting for allocation of land to build a permanent Secretariat for EFCC in the State.

Officials of the Public Complaints Commission who accompanied the Federal Commissioner on the courtsey call were Justin-Chuwang N.I (Mrs) State Director of Investigation, Kpaakpa Terkura: Deputy Director of investigation and Orhemba Charles Akura the Deputy Director of Investigation and the head of Publicity and public enlightenment unit.

Others were Barrister Ogbu Aso: Assist Chief State Counsel and Head of Legal Unit, Mr. Agbese Gabriel Principal Information Officer, Hon Macjohnson Odey – Special Adviser on Special Duties, Hon Jeffrey Anidile Principal Special Adviser, Hon. Otsai Emmanuel Special Assistant and Hon Sunday Oche – my Chief of Staff.

On hand with the Zonal Director of the EFCC to receive officials of the Public Complaints Commission were Assistant Commander 1 Jijah Bwala: Head of Legal and prosecution department, Assistant Commander 2 Goji Mohammed Usman:Head of Proceed of Crime Management Section, Assistant Commander 2 Bashar Bello:Head of Administration and Chief Superintendent Philip .F. Stephanie Head of Economic Governance.
