Kano, Nigeria – March 23, 2026.
In a moment marked by solemn devotion and renewed national hope, the Emir of Kano, His Highness Aminu Ado Bayero, convened a significant prayer gathering at the historic Emir’s Palace in Nassarawa, Kano, calling on Nigerians to unite in faith for the country’s peace, security, and economic revitalization.
The spiritually charged event drew hundreds of adherents of the Qadiriyya Islamic movement, led by respected scholar Baffa Babba Dan’agundi. Coming shortly after the sacred period of Ramadan, the gathering symbolized a continuation of reflection, sacrifice, and collective supplication for national progress.
Addressing the congregation, Emir Bayero emphasized the indispensable role of prayer and unity in overcoming Nigeria’s current challenges.
“This gathering is dedicated to offering prayers for our nation, Nigeria, for lasting peace, unity, and sustainable economic development,” the Emir stated. “We must continue to seek Allah’s intervention in all our affairs as a people.”
In a message that resonated with both spiritual depth and civic responsibility, the Emir underscored the importance of supporting national leadership through prayer. Special supplications were offered for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with the Emir urging divine guidance for the administration in addressing economic instability and security concerns.
“We pray Almighty Allah to grant him wisdom, strength, and success in stabilizing the nation’s economy and restoring peace across the country,” he added.
The Emir also acknowledged the contributions of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, praising his efforts in promoting unity and inclusive governance within the state. He called on citizens to continue supporting government initiatives while maintaining a spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility.
Earlier in his remarks, Sheikh Dan’agundi highlighted the significance of the gathering as a post-Ramadan spiritual renewal, noting that such collective prayers are essential in seeking divine direction for the nation’s future.
“We came together at this significant period after Ramadan to offer collective prayers for our nation—seeking Allah’s guidance, peace, stability, and economic prosperity for Nigeria,” he said.
Observers described the event as both a spiritual convergence and a reflection of Nigeria’s enduring reliance on faith as a pillar of resilience. The large turnout of worshippers, united in purpose and prayer, underscored a shared national desire for healing, stability, and growth.
As Nigeria continues to navigate complex socio-economic realities, voices like that of Emir Bayero serve as a reminder of the enduring power of unity, faith, and collective action in shaping a more peaceful and prosperous future.
