EMIR OF ILORIN, CHARGES HIS SUBJECTS ON EDUCATION…. RECEIVES AAT VARSITY’S Ag. VC
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has enjoined the people of Ilorin Emirate in particular and Kwara State in general not to relent in the acquisition of more Knowledge, to ensure a better society.
The Emir made the call in his Palace in Ilorin , when the Pioneer acting Vice Chancellor of AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin University, Oke Ogba, Ganmo, Prof. AbdulRauf Ambali, paid him a homage, led by the Ologbondoroko of Ogbondoroko in Asa Local Government Area,Alhaji Saad Aminullah Olorunlalaaro, for royal blessings, before assuming office.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari who is also the chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, explained that the need became imperative, as education according to him, enhances moral uprightness, piety, censuring personal and societal development,pointing out that education is an antidote to poverty.

The foremost monarch expressed delight over the increasing number of Professors and Ph.D holders in Ilorin Emirate and expressed confidence in the ability of Prof Ambali in making AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin University a world class, in view of his pedigree and track record of achievements as Director of Academic Planning and Dean Student Affairs in the Kwara State University Malete.
While urging the acting Vice Chancellor to justify the confidence reposed in him, in moving the University to greater heights, praised the Proprietor of the University for his passion for accelerated development of his immediate community, Ilorin Emirate and the state in general.
In his short sernon, an Ilorin based Islamic Scholar, Dr. Aminullah Olohunoyin, while praying for continued endowment of long life and sound health for the foremost monarch, urged the acting Vice Chancellor to always discharge his duty, with the fear of Allah, to enable him succeed in the new task.
Speaking during a similar homage to Khalifat Adabiyyah, Sheikh Abdul Kadir Adisa Kamaldeen, while calling for more establishment of public and private Universities in the state,in view of the numerous benefits of education, urged the acting Vice Chancellor to be fair, just, open and innovative in running the affairs of the University.
The acting Vice Chancellor was accompanied on the homage by members of the academia from the Kwara state University Malete, eminent personalities from Ogbondoroko, his family and Associates, including Head of Osi Campus of KWASU,Prof. Binta Suleiman,the former Chairman of Asa Local Government Council,Doctor Muftau Yahaya and the Chief Imam of Ogbondoroko, Ustaz Tajudeen Ambali
Meanwhile, Prof . Muhammed Nasif Suratman of the University of Technology Mara, Malaysia and Dr. Bashir of Algerian University have expressed delight over the choice of Prof. Ambali as the acting Vice Chancellor of the newly established University in Kwara State, pointing out that his vast Knowledge, wealth of experience and his global network of connection, would no doubt fast track the process of making the newly established University, attains global standard .
