Abuja — Engr. Olushola George Olumoroti, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Ilorin, has been honoured with the prestigious Exemplary Public Service Leadership Award 2026 by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
The award was presented at the newspaper’s 16th Anniversary and Awards Ceremony held in Abuja.
The organisers recognised Engr. Olumoroti for his outstanding commitment to public service, prudent management of water resources, and impactful rural development initiatives across the Lower Niger Basin.
According to the organisers, the award was in recognition of Engr. Olumoroti’s leadership in expanding irrigation projects, boosting food security, and improving access to potable water for farming communities within the Authority’s mandate states.
Speaking after receiving the award, Engr. Olumoroti dedicated the honour to the staff of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority and to the communities they serve.
“This award is a call to do more. At Lower Niger River Basin, our focus remains on delivering projects that improve livelihoods, support agriculture, and ensure sustainable management of our water resources for the benefit of Nigerians,” he stated.
The organisers noted that the Exemplary Public Service Leadership Award celebrates public officers who have demonstrated integrity, innovation, and measurable impact in service delivery.
