ABUJA — Professor Ronke Bello, Federal Commissioner of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, has been honoured with the prestigious Community Development Service Award 2026 by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
The award was presented at the newspaper’s 16th Anniversary and Awards Ceremony held in Abuja.

Prof. Bello was represented by Hon. Seth Abayomi Ronke, Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President of the Nigeria Senate, National Assembly.
The organisers recognised Prof. Bello for her outstanding contributions to community development, education, women and youth empowerment, and her commitment to social welfare and equity.
According to Democracy Newsline, the award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated sustained impact in uplifting communities through service, advocacy, and grassroots initiatives.
Speaking on her behalf, Hon. Yaro expressed appreciation to the organisers and described the award as well-deserved.
“Professor Ronke Bello is a woman of service. Beyond her role at the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, she has consistently invested in community development and in creating opportunities for women and young people. This award is a reflection of her dedication,” he stated.
Prof. Bello, in a goodwill message delivered by her representative, dedicated the award to community leaders, women groups, and volunteers working to improve livelihoods across Nigeria.
“This honour belongs to everyone working at the grassroots to make a difference. Service to humanity remains the true measure of leadership,” the message read.
