EXIT OF A POLITICAL ICON: FAMILY ANNOUNCES JUNE 26 FOR BURIAL OF LATE SUNDAY KPIKPI KOTOR

 

The family of the late Hon Sunday Kpikpi Kotor has formally announced Thursday, June 26, 2026, as the date for the final burial rites of the renowned politician, community leader, and political icon whose passing has continued to attract tributes from across Delta State and beyond.

According to the Kotor family, the funeral ceremonies will commence with a series of activities designed to celebrate the remarkable life, enduring legacy, and immense contributions of the late political icon to the growth of his community and the advancement of democratic governance in the state.

Widely respected for his wisdom, humility, and commitment to public service, Hon Sunday Kotor played a significant role in shaping political discourse within his Ughelli South constituency and remained a respected voice in matters concerning peace, development, and community cohesion throughout his lifetime in Delta State.

Family sources disclosed that dignitaries from various walks of life, including political leaders, traditional rulers, religious organizations, community groups, associates, and well-wishers, are expected to attend the burial ceremony in large numbers to pay their final respects.
Many who knew the late Sunday Kotor have described him as a bridge-builder whose leadership transcended political affiliations and whose counsel was sought by leaders and stakeholders.
