IYAMOYE SETS FOR 2026 COMMUNITY DAY CELEBRATION, LAUNCHES ₦500 MILLION FUNDRAISING APPEAL
The ancient Community of Iyamoye Kingdom in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State is set to host its 2026 Iyamoye Day Celebration on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with a grand fundraising appeal aimed at raising ₦500 million for the establishment of a Skill Acquisition Centre and the execution of other critical Community Development Projects.
The event, which will take place at Model Primary School, Iyamoye, is expected to attract sons and daughters of the Community from across Nigeria and the diaspora, Traditional Rulers, Government Officials, Captains of Industry, Development Partners, and other Distinguished Guests.
The celebration is designed not only to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Iyamoye, but also to mobilize resources for Projects that will enhance the socio-economic development of the Community. The proposed Skill Acquisition Centre is expected to provide vocational and entrepreneurial training opportunities for youths and women, thereby promoting self-reliance and economic empowerment.
A major highlight of the event will be the colourful display of Iyamoye’s rich cultural traditions, featuring traditional music, dances, and other cultural performances that reflect the history, values, and identity of the people.
The occasion will also witness the conferment of Honorary Traditional Chieftaincy Titles on eminent personalities who have distinguished themselves through exceptional service to humanity and support for community development. In addition, Awards of Commendation and Excellent Performance will be presented to deserving individuals and organizations in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the growth and progress of Iyamoye.
The 2026 Iyamoye Day Celebration is expected to provide a unique platform for unity, cultural promotion, recognition of excellence, and collective action towards community development.
The Planning Committee under the leadership of Alhaji Sheriff Bello is calling on Public-Spirited Individuals, Corporate Organizations, Government Agencies, and Friends of the Community to support the fund-raising initiative and partner with the people of Iyamoye Kingdom in their quest to build a more prosperous and sustainable future.
