Fadilat As’Sheikh Tasks Nigerians on Religious Tolerance as Ridwanullahi Ak’bar Society Holds Maulud
By Ahiaba Douglas
In a bold move aimed at encouraging and complementing the efforts of patriotic Nigerians toward the propagation and advancement of Islam in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, and across the country, the Ridwanullahi Ak’bar Society of Nigeria has recognized several distinguished individuals for their philanthropic and humanitarian contributions.
The recognition came during the Society’s annual Maulud, Award, and Turbaning Ceremony, where humanitarian service awards were conferred on both Muslims and non-Muslims, while others were turbaned in appreciation of their selfless contributions to the Ridwanullahi Ak’bar Society and the Islamic community at large.
Addressing a large congregation of Muslims in Kagini, a suburban community in the Abuja Municipal Area Council, on Sunday, December 7, 2025, the host of the event, Fadilat As’Sheikh Imam Akorede Ridwanullahi, eulogized the award recipients and honorees for their dedication to the cause of Allah.
He noted that their contributions had helped alleviate challenges faced by the Society and brought relief not only to its members but to the entire Muslim community in the area—particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, when the Foundation provides daily iftar meals to over 300 individuals.
According to him, the beneficiaries’ support was not limited to financial assistance during Ramadan. It also included the provision of mosque infrastructure and the installation of streetlights to illuminate the environment hosting the Foundation.
While commending non-Muslims who also received humanitarian service awards for their support, Fadilat As’Sheikh emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence and religious tolerance among Nigerians.
Speaking exclusively to the press, he explained that the mission of the Imam Akorede Ridwanullahi Foundation is to positively impact lives within its host community through the propagation and teaching of Islam, promotion of unity, and provision of support for the less privileged. He added that the Foundation also strives to serve as a source of hope and guidance for individuals seeking a purposeful life devoted to the service of Allah.
