Federal Ministry of Health Perm Sec commends FUAHSE in working visit
The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Daju Kachollom, has expressed satisfaction with the progress being made at the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu (FUAHSE).
Kachollom who was on a working visit to access facilities in the federal tertiary institutions in Enugu State, said that she was impressed with the level of local fabrication of hospital equipment made by the students of the university, particularly in the field of Biomedical Engineering.
She expressed her satisfaction without reservations and suggested that the university should embark on the process of commercializing the products since they were all made from locally sourced materials.
The Vice Chancellor of FUAHSE, Prof. John Emaimo highlighted the level of transition to full fledged university operation and its plans for NUC Resources verification for commencement of new programmes.
Kachollom encouraged further collaboration and participation in a ministerial retreat, emphasizing Abuja’s positive opinion of the institution.
She was conducted round the University’s professional clinics, laboratories and the Medical Centre which has been repositioned for preliminary clinical exposures for students.
While in Enugu, Kachollom also visited the Federal Neuropsychiatric hospital, the National Orthopedic hospital and University of Nigeria Teaching hospital, all in Enugu.
