Festive Season: DSSK and Wife Kick Off Door-to-Door Outreach from Lokoja/Kotonkarfe, Spreading Cheer Across Kogi West
In a heartwarming demonstration of compassion and grassroots connection, the festive season outreach of the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Karimi, and his wife, Mrs. Stellamaris Karimi, commenced from Lokoja/ Kotonkarfe Federal Constituency. before spreading across the district.
The initiative, which kicked off in the Lokoja/Kotonkarfe axis, saw the distribution of wrappers and foodstuffs to women and families through the Kogi West Women Movement for Karimi (KWWMK). The outreach was carried out through a door-to-door programme, ensuring that the gesture of love and care reached households and communities directly, particularly at the grassroots level.
The Lokoja/Kotonkarfe take-off of the programme set the tone for what has become a district-wide festive intervention, reinforcing the Karimis’ resolve to remain close to the people and responsive to their needs. This outreach also comes shortly after the massive distribution of bags of rice to residents across all seven local government areas of the Kogi West Senatorial District, further underscoring Senator Karimi’s commitment to alleviating hardship and promoting inclusive welfare.
Leading the KWWMK delegation, Hon. Olamide Adesoro reaffirmed Senator Karimi’s unwavering dedication to the wellbeing of the people of Kogi West, with particular emphasis on women empowerment and support. She also reiterated the invaluable and consistent role played by Mrs. Stellamaris Karimi, describing her support for women across the district as immeasurable and deeply impactful.
According to her, beginning the outreach from Lokoja and Kotonkarfe symbolises the leadership’s grassroots-first approach and reflects the Karimis’ belief in compassionate, people-oriented leadership.
Recipients of the items expressed deep appreciation and joy, describing the gesture as timely and thoughtful, especially during the festive season.
