FG Unveils 477km Trans-African Mombasa Superhighway Road Project

The federal government has unveiled 477km superhighway road project that would transverse the African Trans-sahara highway.
At stakeholders’ engagement meeting held in Exco chambers, new government house, Abakaliki, Minister of Works, Sen David Umahi described the as economic agricultural viable routes would boost the economy of south east and the country in general.
Umahi further described the project as Tinubu’s legacy project and urged South East and other people of the country to support it to ease the perennial problems encounter by farmers in the evacuation of agricultural produce.
The Works Minister said: “It’s an economic agricultural viable routes that will enable Ebonyi State to now bring a lot of their rice within this corridor”.
“There is a lot of rice production here, potatoes and yams and there is no road to transport them. So, these is going to help us to bring out our agricultural produce to support Mr. President policy on food sufficiency.So, it’s an agricultural economic corridor
“Let me on behalf of Mr. President unveil the three legacy projects of Mr. President. Let me emphasize that these legacy projects are not just mere projects”.
Umahi also urged the people of the southeast to shun calls for protests against the government of the day.
“The governors have spoken to our people. There will be no form of demonstration against the President in Ebonyi and southeast”.
“Southeast today under President Tinubu has benefitted from numerous road construction projects ongoing to develop the southeast which has suffered many years of neglect in previous administrations. So we need to support him”.
The Minister also noted that there has been a marked improvement in the security of the southeast since President Tinubu’s administration came on board.
