Former Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja, to Receive Special Recognition Award

The immediate past Deputy Governor of Kogi State and current member of the South East Development Commission, His Excellency, Chief Edward David Onoja, will be honored with a Special Recognition Award by Democracy Newsline Newspaper as the Icon of Public Service Leadership Award.
According to Elder Olalekan Aiyenigba, Executive Editor of Democracy Newsline Newspaper, Chief Onoja’s consistent leadership and meritorious service in various capacities, including his roles as Chief of Staff to the Governor and Deputy Governor of Kogi State, make him a deserving recipient of the award

He said the award is based on reports from a team of experts who conducted an opinion poll, and the special recognition will be bestowed on Chief Edward Onoja during the upcoming 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony.
He noted that the event is scheduled to hold on August 26, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, with a red carpet ceremony by 5pm, while the Main Even will commence by 6pm followed by a dinner program.
The 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony, themed “Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance,” will bring together stakeholders to discuss Nigeria’s democratic progress.
