Former EACDA National President, Elder Wilson Olorunleke Clinches Lifetime Achievement Award

The immediate past National President of Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) Elder Wilson Abiodun Olorunleke, has clinched a lifetime achievement award at the 2025 Ekinrin Adde cultural festival

According to Emmanuel Ajibola Ogungbuyi, the EACDA Spokesperson, Elder Olorunleke’s selection as a beneficiary of the prestigious award is to acknowledge his sacrifices, love, and the impact he made in the community both before and during his presidency.

The statement described Olorunleke as a selfless leader, a bridge builder and a distinguished community servant whose tenure brought unprecedented progress to the Ekinrin-Adde community through inclusive development initiatives and unity among members at home and in the diaspora.

Elder Olorunleke, Wilson Abiodun was born to the family of Pa Moribirin Daniel O. of Odoniun clan in Odo Adde, and Madam Moribirin Serah Wuraola of Oke Alo, Otun Adde, all in Ekinrin Adde, and both of blessed memory. He started his educational journey at the then Baptist Day School, for his Primary School Leaving Certificate. From there, he was admitted to the then prestigious Lion of The North, Government Secondary School, Okene, now Abdul Azeez Atta Memorial College, between 1970 and 1974. He later attended Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, where he studied Physics/Chemistry.

He later got employed by the Kwara State Education Management Board and taught at Patigi Secondary School and Ansar-Ud-Deen College, Offa, for a few years before going to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, for his degree programme (Chemistry Education) and also went to the University of Ibadan for his Master’s degree in Science Education (Chemistry). He later taught Chemistry at the College of Education, Oro in Kwara State, until Kogi State was created and was deployed to the State Ministry of Education.

In 1994, he transferred his service to the National Youth Service Corps. His sojourn in NYSC took him to NYSC State Secretariats of Kwara, Bayelsa, Jigawa, Imo, Lagos, and the Headquarters in Abuja. He was later transferred to Katsina State as the State Coordinator in 2013 and finally retired from active service in October 2015. After retirement, he relocated to Ilorin to be with his family.

As a senior citizen, he continued his service to the community through Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association as the Branch Chairman for almost six years before relinquishing the position to another person to continue as Chairman. In 2020, he was elected as the National President of Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) for two terms of four years, which ended in December 2024.

He is a gentle, sociable and unassuming person. Olorunleke is happily married to Christianah Bukola Olorunleke, and the marriage is blessed with grown up children who are doing well in different fields of endeavour.
