Former NIWA Boss, Bola Oyebamiji Emerges Osun APC Governorship Candidate
The immediate past Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Asiwaju Murideen Bola Oyebamiji, has emerged as the Governorship Candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Southwest Nigeria.
The Edo State Governor and Chairman of the primary election committee, Senator Monday Okpebholo, declared Mr. Bola Oyebamiji as the candidate of the APC for next year’s governorship election in Osun State.
Oyebamiji, the immediate past Managing Director of NIWA, emerged after being affirmed by the 1,660 delegates who participated in the APC governorship primary election held in Osogbo on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
He had earlier been nominated by one of the aspirants, Mr. Kunle Adegoke, SAN, and seconded by another aspirant, Senator Babajide Omoworare. The Chairman of the primary election committee, Governor Monday Okpebholo, then asked for a voice vote, and all the delegates affirmed his candidacy.
In his declaration, Senator Monday Okpebholo said, “By the power conferred on me as Chairman of the primary committee, I hereby declare Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, as the candidate of our party.”
