Fuel subsidy: Kogi Govt. Distributes bags of rice to orphanage homes
The Kogi State Government has distributed bags of rices to over 30 orphanage homes across the 21 Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba who distributed the bags of rice on behalf of the Government said the palliatives is meant to cushion the harsh realities of the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.
While addressing the representatives of the orphanage homes, Buba stated that, the palliatives are only a show of empathy with the people as more sustainable initiatives would be implemented by the present administration.
According to her, “this is only a fraction of what we have done to identify with orphanage home at this very critical moment of our national life.
“Palliatives are a stop-gap measure to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy on the most vulnerable among us”.
The Commissioner thanked Governor Yahaya Bello for always showing empathy to the needy stressing that, the present administration has been transparent in the distribution of the palliatives.
“The holistic nature of the palliatives distributed under Governor Yahaya Bello which cuts across all Kogites, the employed, unemployed, less privileged, the market people, the sick and pregnant women, school children and students, the artisans and transporters, are worthy of commendation” she stated.
