FUPRE Vice-Chancellor Celebrates Orodje of Okpe on 19th Coronation Anniversary

Effurun, Delta State — The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), Professor Ezekiel Oghenenyeworo Agbalagba, has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Major General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), CFR, MNI, Orhue I, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, on the occasion of his 19th coronation anniversary.

In a goodwill message on behalf of the University’s Governing Council, Senate, Staff, and Students, Professor Agbalagba praised the monarch’s reign as a beacon of visionary leadership, enduring wisdom, and meaningful national impact.

“Your Majesty’s reign is distinguished by exceptional service—as a senior military officer, legal scholar, and statesman—characterized by integrity, discipline, and visionary leadership,” the Vice-Chancellor said.

“You have played a pivotal role in fostering peace, stability, and unity, thereby laying a solid foundation for sustainable development within the Okpe Kingdom, throughout Delta State, and beyond.”

 

Professor Agbalagba also expressed deep appreciation for the monarch’s unwavering support and advocacy for the University, describing it as instrumental to FUPRE’s emergence as Nigeria’s foremost petroleum university.

“Your unwavering support and strategic advocacy for FUPRE’s recognition and specialized funding have been both inspirational and instrumental to our institutional growth,” he noted.

“This commitment to academic excellence and sustainable development highlights the vital role of traditional leadership in advancing national progress.”The Vice-Chancellor concluded the message with prayers for renewed strength, divine wisdom, and continued prosperity for His Royal Majesty and the Okpe Kingdom.“Long live Orhue I. Long live the Okpe Kingdom,” he affirmed.

Founded in 2007, FUPRE is the first petroleum university in Africa, dedicated to excellence in energy-related education, research, and innovation. The institution continues to play a strategic role in Nigeria’s development through partnerships, academic leadership, and community engagement.
