Fursum District Honours Professor Yohana Izam

Fursum District was agog during the weekend as the Community roll out drums and came out en-mass to catch the glimpse of their eyes as the District Head of Fursum,His Royal Highness, Ada Usman Nyam Coronated Prof. Yohana Izam with a revered Chieftaincy Title of Ikpar Isum( Meaning the Shield or Defender. Izam who is the immediate past Vice Chancellor of the Plateau state University and currently the National President of the Nigerian Institutes of Builders.

The Event took place at the District Head’s Palace in Fursum District of Jos East Local government Area.

People from all walk of life both for near and wide grace the occasion.

Yohana Izam also hold the title of Maji Dadin Kurgwi,a Chieftaincy bestowed on him while he was the Provost of College of arts, Science and Remedial Studies Kurgwi.

The Astute and Quintessential Builder,A community Leader, Emancipator and a mentor to Several Youths on the Plateau and beyond.

He was nicknamed Mr. Project when he was the Vice Chancellor of PLASU as a result of Massive Infrastructures he executed in the Institution.

His coronation was more or less a carnival and a moment for blessings and encomium showered on him by his friends, colleagues,staff of the Plateau state University,led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Admistration,Staff of the University of Jos,CARS Kurgwi among others.

A golden fish has no hidden place.

The good deed of Izam attracted his people to honor him with such revered title in contrast to saying that a prophet have no honor in his own town.

His Home Town witness the unprecedented number of people who troop in large numbers to celebrate with an Icon who has written his name in sands of time.

Speakers at the event showered accolades to the People’s Professor as he is popularly called by the youths in the state.

The Entire Jos East Local government led by the Executive Chairman,Hon. Izang Yakubu Ezekiel, Secretary,Leader legislative Arm,Supervisory and Elected Councillors were not left out.

The Bible says good name is better than Silver and gold.

The end is better than the beginning.
