General Oloye Hails Oborevwori Over ThisDay/Arise / New Telegraph Best Governor of the Year Award

Asaba, Delta State – March 3, 2025

The newly appointed Special Assistant (SA) to the Delta State Governor on Security, Mr. Clement Ofovwi, aka General Oloye, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency,Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori the Governor of Delta State on his recent recognition as the Best Governor of the Year by ThisDay/Arise News and New Telegraph Newspapers.

Speaking to selected journalists in Asaba, General Oloye described the awards as a well-deserved honor for a leader whose commitment to good governance, infrastructural transformation, economic growth, and security in Delta State has been widely acknowledged. He praised Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, emphasizing that the administration’s developmental strides have significantly improved the lives of Deltans.

General Oloye the Ex Warlord stated that
Governor Oborevwori has demonstrated uncommon leadership, inclusiveness, and a strong commitment to advancing Delta State. These awards from ThisDay/Arise and New Telegraph are a testament to his visionary policies and impactful governance. His dedication to security, youth empowerment, and economic reforms has set a new standard in leadership.

Expressing profound gratitude for his appointment as Special Assistant on Security, General Oloye thanked Governor Oborevwori for entrusting him with such a critical role. He also extended appreciation to key political stakeholders and leaders who played a role in his appointment.

Speaking further, he affirmed:”I am deeply grateful to His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for the confidence reposed in me. I also appreciate other political leaders who supported my nomination. This appointment is not just a personal achievement but a call to service. I pledge to work diligently to fulfill my core mandate and contribute meaningfully to the security and stability of our dear state.”

The former Niger Delta Warlord and Ex-Agitator, now turned security expert and advocate for peace, reiterated his readiness to collaborate with relevant agencies and stakeholders to enhance security across Delta State. He emphasized his resolve to promote peaceful coexistence, crime prevention, and proactive security measures to support the MORE AGENDA which have made Delta State a reference point for good governance.

General Oloye recognized and lauded the Governor’s proactive approach to security, noting that under his leadership, Delta State has witnessed a reduction in crime, improved law enforcement synergy, and greater emphasis on peacebuilding initiatives.

He further assured that in his role as SA on Security, he would work closely with law enforcement agencies, community leaders, and ex-agitators to ensure a stable and safe Delta State, where businesses and citizens can thrive without fear of insecurity.

“Security is a fundamental pillar of development. Without peace, progress is impossible. I will deploy my experience, network, and expertise to support the government’s security initiatives, ensuring that Delta remains a peaceful and investor-friendly state,” General Oloye pledged.

General Oloye also took the opportunity to commend other notable political leaders in Delta State, including Hon Chief Peter Uviejitobor, Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Hon Chief Vincent Oyibode ,the Chairman, Udu LGA, Hon
Goru Jonathan Oghenekaro , DESOPADEC Commissioner
and other grassroots leaders, for their unwavering support for the Oborevwori administration.
