Gov. Oborevwori’s Appointment: A Square Peg in a Square Hole, Richly Deserved – Arenyeka Delta Agric Commissioner

The Delta State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ada Val Arenyeka, Esq., has congratulated the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, on his appointment as Director of Finance and Treasurer of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Organisation, describing the appointment as a fitting recognition of the Governor’s competence, loyalty and political sagacity.
Arenyeka, in a congratulatory message, described the appointment as “a square peg in a square hole,” stressing that Governor Oborevwori possesses the experience, political network, administrative capacity and grassroots connections required to discharge the sensitive responsibility effectively.

According to him, the appointment is not only richly deserved but also a strong testament to the confidence President Tinubu and the leadership of the ruling political establishment have reposed in the Delta State Governor.
He said Governor Oborevwori’s elevation to such a strategic position was a recognition of his remarkable contributions to national politics, particularly his ability to build bridges across political divides, mobilise the people and provide purposeful leadership.
Arenyeka commended President Tinubu for identifying and entrusting the responsibility to a leader of Governor Oborevwori’s calibre, describing the decision as a demonstration of political wisdom and appreciation of competence.
He noted that the financial and organisational responsibilities attached to the position require an individual who is trustworthy, experienced, resourceful and capable of coordinating diverse interests towards a common political objective.
“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is undoubtedly a square peg in a square hole. His appointment is richly deserved. It is a recognition of his capacity, loyalty, commitment and exceptional political dexterity.
“I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this well-considered appointment. By choosing Governor Oborevwori for this strategic assignment, Mr. President has demonstrated that competence, loyalty and political experience remain important considerations in building a formidable team for the 2027 presidential campaign,” Arenyeka stated.
The Commissioner further congratulated Governor Oborevwori, urging him to see the appointment as both an honour and a call to greater national service.
He expressed confidence that the Governor would bring his trademark MORE Agenda leadership philosophy, administrative experience and grassroots mobilisation skills to bear on the assignment.
Arenyeka also described Governor Oborevwori as a leader whose political trajectory has continued to attract wider national recognition, saying his emergence as Director of Finance and Treasurer of the campaign organisation has further elevated Delta State’s profile on the national political stage.
He prayed for God to grant the Governor greater wisdom, strength and good health as he undertakes the new responsibility, assuring him of the goodwill and support of Deltans.
The Commissioner urged political stakeholders and supporters of President Tinubu across the country to unite behind the campaign organisation and work collectively for the success of the President’s 2027 re-election bid.
He concluded by reiterating his warm congratulations to Governor Oborevwori and expressing appreciation to President Tinubu for finding the Delta State Governor worthy of such a sensitive and prestigious national assignment.
