Gov Ododo Commissions Constituency Projects in Omala, Praises Hon. Umar’s Efforts
The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has said his government will continue to focus on bringing development closer to the people and improving security across the state.
He made this known on Saturday, during the commissioning of constituency projects carried out by the lawmaker representing Omala State Constituency, Hon. Umar Yahaya, in Ibado-Akpacha, Omala Local Government Area.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, thanked the people of Omala for their support and unity, saying it is important for peace and development.

Some of the projects commissioned include boreholes with generators in Ofejiji, Ódó, Egbachi, and Agbenema communities to provide clean water. Also commissioned were the Ibado-Akpacha Police Post and motorcycles given to security agencies to help fight crime, as well the donation of vehicle to the Ife Development Association.
The Governor said security remains a top priority of his administration, noting that the government has set up a military Forward Operations Base in Omala, with many security interventions, he assured residents that all security challenges in the area are being handled properly.
He praised the motorcycles given to security agencies, saying they will help improve quick response to crime. He also urged residents to support security agencies by sharing useful information.
Governor Ododo commended Hon. Umar Yahaya for his efforts and called on groups like the Ife Development Association to work closely with the government to maintain peace and security.
He assured the people of Omala that their challenges are known and will be addressed soon, adding that the government is working to improve the lives of all citizens.
Speaking earlier, Hon. Umar Yahaya said he returned to show the people the results of the promises he made during the election. He listed the boreholes, motorcycles, police station, and a vehicle provided to the Ife Development Association as part of his efforts, adding that more projects will be completed.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Omala Local Government, Hon. Mark Edibo, praised the projects and said they will benefit the people and support development in the area.
In his remarks, the Onuh Ife and Chairman of the Omala Traditional Council, Chief Boniface Musa, described the projects as the first of their kind in the area. He thanked the lawmaker and called on the government to continue tackling insecurity the local government.
