Gov Ododo Reaffirms Administration’s Dedication to Development of Kogi State

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reiterated the unwavering commitment of his administration to the rapid growth and development of the state.
Governor Ododo, represented by his Deputy Comrade Joel Salifu, made the statement during the inauguration of the Nyamkpo Community Electrification Project in Bassa local government Area. He emphasized that his administration will spare no effort in providing rapid infrastructural development for the state.
Highlighting the significance of electricity in the people’s daily lives, Governor Ododo underscored its pivotal role as a catalyst for economic prosperity within society. He emphasized the importance of reliable electricity supply for private enterprises to function smoothly without resorting to expensive diesel or petrol-powered generators. Moreover, he assured the residents that measures are being taken to address the electricity challenges in Kogi East.
The Governor disclosed that the state government is currently undertaking a comprehensive range of infrastructural projects across the state. He specifically mentioned ongoing efforts for the rehabilitation of Dekina Bassa road, Idah to Ibaji Road, and the construction of the Shintaku-Lokoja bridge to connect the area to the state capital.
Governor Ododo pointed out that the improvement in salary and pension payments, as well as the fight against insecurity in the state, are just the beginning compared to the advancements the state is poised to witness in the near future.
Commending the Nyamkpo Community Development Union for their commendable project, Governor Ododo assured them of the government’s unwavering commitment to bringing the dividends of democracy to the residents of the state, maintaining that Bassa local government cannot be excluded.
In his opening remarks, the leader of the Nyamkpo Community Development Union, Chief. Engr Ndah Usman acknowledged that the project was established to tackle the electricity challenges facing the area. He expressed gratitude to the state government for their continuous support towards the development of the local government. Ndah pledged the area’s steadfast support to the current administration in the state.
Prior to the commencement of the program, Deputy Governor Joel Salifu paid a royal visit to the palace of ETSU of Bassa Nge Kingdom, HRH Rtd. General Abuh Alih in Gboloko, Bassa Local Government Area, to seek royal blessings.
Accompanying the Deputy Governor were various dignitaries including members of the State House of Assembly from Kogi East, advisers to the Governor, Senior Special Assistant, Council Chairmen, and local government officials in Kogi East.
