GOV UMARU BAGO COMMISSIONS NEW ABBATOIR IN NEW BUSSA.
Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago on arriving at New Bussa the headquarters of Borgu LGA as part of his state-wide project tour inspected the Dantoro, Ibadan, Army Engineer and stadium roads all in New Bussa which he emphatically stated the contract has not been awarded to any company yet, adding that the Stakeholders are to have a meeting with him to agree on roads that should be constructed for them as due process must be followed and proceeded to commission the newly remodeled and expanded New Bussa Abbatoir refurbished by L-Press World Bank/Niger State government funded project.
The project has veterinary offices, general slaughter area, shower room, water tanks, conference room, underground reservoir and processing centers using renewable energy.
Bago experess his satisfaction with the quality of work done and said the quality of meat eaten by people portrays how healthy they are. He donated a high-Jet vehicle for the services of the Abbatoir.
Thereafter, The farmer governor proceeded to the palace of the Emir of Borgu HRH Barrister Muhammad Sani Haliru Kitoro III where he paid homage to Emir and met with the people of Borgu where he made the following announcement:
1. To complete Rofia – to Borgu Road as the 93km Rofia-Agwara road is currently under construction by the state government.
2. Donated 100million Naira for the empowerment of women in New Bussa.
3. Applauded the effort of the President of Nigeria who pledged to construct Zamare to Rofia Bridge and super highway from Lagos to Sokoto which will pass through Borgu and 2.5billion has been secured to help farmers
4. 55km from Lumma to Babbanna International Border Market is to be constructed by the Federal Government.
6. General hospital Bussa has been handed over to federal government to be upgraded to federal medical center and a new general hospital is to be built within the town.
7. Two new ferry boats have been acquired for Rofia and shall be delivered soonest
8. Pledged to construct a new bypass from Wawa to Bussa to ease the hardship faced by people around the Air Force base that has been blocked
9. Assured of changing education system to allow herders’ children to attend schools in the afternoon or evening and encourage Fulanis parents to enroll children in school.
