GOVERNOR BELLO RECEIVES OKUN UNITED 4 ODODO SUPPORT GROUP
… As Group Assures APC of Victory at the November Polls
On Sunday, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello received a courtesy visit from members of a support group, Okun United 4 Ododo/Joel in Government House, Lokoja.
During the meeting with the group who were former members of the PDP, the Governor expressed his gratitude to the group for their dedicated efforts in canvassing and mobilizing electorate to support the APC gubernatorial candidate, Hon Ododo Ahmed Usman and his running mate, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salisu, for the November 11 Governorship election in Kogi State.
Governor Bello emphasized the significance of the upcoming election, stating that it would shape the future of the state.
He encouraged the group members to campaign vigorously across the area to secure a resounding victory on November 11.
In addition, he appreciated the unity and collective voice demonstrated by the people of Okun land at this moment of the state’s political history.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the State’s Security Adviser who double as the Coordinator of the group, Commander Jerry Omodara, praised the APC as a formidable political party in Kogi State, stressing that since the launch of the support group on June 8th, they have actively canvassed support for Hon Ododo Ahmed Usman, engaging in consultations with traditional rulers, market women, and other crucial election stakeholders in Okun land. “Our primary agenda is to unite all Okun sons and daughters with a common goal of delivering bloc votes for the APC in the November 11 election”.
The Director General of the group, Barrister Alfred Bello thanked the Governor for his cooperation and moral support for the group, pointing out that they will go extra miles to deliver Okunland to the APC.
He noted that there is a difference operating under the ruling party compared to the opposition party while he advised those still in the PDP to join the moving train of the APC.
According to him, he believes in results rather than appraisal of efforts and November 11 is the judgment day, stressing that APC will come out with a resounding victory in the election.
Philip Orebiyi acknowledged that Governor Bello had fulfilled the long-standing aspirations of the Okun people, citing the establishment of Kogi State University in Kabba as a source of pride celebrated both within and beyond the country.
He emphasized that the Okun community was aligning with Governor Bello’s administration to ensure victory for Hon Ododo, rather than supporting someone who once warned that opposing Yahaya Bello equated to fighting God.
In a vote of thanks on behalf of the State Government, Deputy Governor Chief Edward Onoja commended the Okun United 4 Ododo group and urged them to remain steadfast in their pursuit of the overall success of the state.
Highlights of the visit was the presentation of campaign materials to the governor.
Other members of the group present during the visit were, Hon Samson Obademi, Niyi Olayemi, Barr James Fagbola, and Hon Eric Fiki.
