Governor Mutfwang’s Two-Year Anniversary Raises Concerns
By Peter Azi – Jos
A group of youths known as Ricam Think Tank has expressed disquiet over the exclusion of Jos East Local Government Area from a map displayed during Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s two-year anniversary thanksgiving service in Jos, Plateau State.
In a letter signed by the group’s Chairman, Dr. Ajik Magaji, and Secretary, Peter Azi, the youths appealed to Governor Mutfwang to correct the omission, which they believe could create division among the state’s peaceful citizens.
The group urged the Governor to use his office to address the anomaly, emphasizing the need for unity and inclusiveness in the state’s development.
The incident has sparked concerns among the people of Jos East Local Government Area, who feel marginalized and excluded from the state’s development initiatives.
The Ricam Think Tank called on Governor Mutfwang to take immediate action to correct the omission and ensure that all local government areas, including Jos East, are represented in the state’s development plans.

PRESS RELEASE
ON THE OMISSION OF JOS EAST LGA FROM THE MAP OF PLATEAU STATE USED BY H.E. GOVERNOR CALEB MUTFWANG DURING TGE CELEBRATION OF HIS 2ND ANNIVERSARY IN OFFICE
31st May, 2025
The Ricam Think-Tank Initiative sincerely appreciates His Excellency, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for his inclusive and visionary leadership in Plateau State. The Governor’s commitment to the Greater Jos Master Plan and his people-centred development agenda — including the reconstruction of the NDLEA–Fobur Road — are clear evidence of his dedication to equitable development. These efforts are felt and valued, particularly by the peace-loving people of Jos East Local Government Area, who remain committed contributors to the Plateau project.
However, we were deeply concerned to observe that Jos East LGA was omitted from the map of Plateau State featured in a symbolic video and images shared on the Governor’s official social media pages on May 29, 2025. These visuals, commemorating two years of impactful leadership, unfortunately, excluded a key component of the state’s identity. Jos East plays a strategic role in Plateau’s sociopolitical and cultural fabric. The omission, whether inadvertent or otherwise, has generated significant concern and emotional distress among the inhabitants of the LGA.
We believe this unfortunate oversight does not reflect the inclusive ideals the Governor consistently upholds. However, given the symbolic weight of such materials in shaping public perception and historical record, we respectfully request the following corrective steps:
1. A public apology for the omission of Jos East LGA from the map of Plateau State published on the social media pages of H.E. Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
2. The immediate removal of all videos and pictures depicting the map of Plateau State without Jos East LGA.
3. A thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to the exclusion of Jos East LGA from the official map used by the Governor.
4. Appropriate sanctions against those found responsible for this damaging oversight.
As an organisation committed to peace, unity, and progress, we reaffirm our belief in “One Plateau under God.” We trust in the Governor’s responsiveness and believe that taking swift corrective action will not only pacify the concerns of the affected community, but also reinforce the administration’s image as attentive and committed to all.
