Governor Ododo Seeks Federal Government’s Collaboration for Increase Healthcare Services in Kogi State

The Kogi State Government has solicited collaboration and support from the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Health for increase healthcare services in Kogi State.

The State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo made the appeal during a visit to the Federal Ministry of Health on Wednesday in Abuja.

Central to the discussions was Governor Ododo’s entreaty desiring expert counsel from the Honorable Minister of Health, Prof Muhammad Ali Pate, whom he described as a seasoned professional. A gesture that showcases the governor’s commitment to harnessing wisdom and expertise in addressing healthcare challenges effectively.

Governor Ododo lauded the commendable efforts of the immediate past governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, in elevating healthcare standards across the state, emphasizing the need to build upon these achievements and propel Kogi State towards greater healthcare excellence.

Seeking Federal Government’s patronage in bolstering Kogi State healthcare system, His Excellency made clear his administration’s steadfast dedication to prioritizing primary healthcare, pledging to allocate resources and direct efforts towards fortifying healthcare services. This commitment, according to the governor, aims to ensure the comprehensive delivery of healthcare services to the populace of Kogi State.

In response, the Minister commended the achievements of the previous administration of Yahaya Bello in improving healthcare access and quality across Kogi State. The Minister Pledged the Federal Government’s unwavering support and guidance, while reaffirming his commitment to primary healthcare nationwide through initiatives such as the Basic Healthcare Provision Funds (BHCPF), aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

Governor Ododo expressed gratitude for the assurances of support from the Federal Government, committing to work tirelessly towards realizing the healthcare aspirations of the people of Kogi State.

This collaborative efforts between the Kogi State government and the Federal Government are poised to usher in a new era of improved healthcare access and delivery for the residents of Kogi State.
