Governor Ododo Visits TETFund Executive Secretary, Seeks Increase Intervention For Tertiary Institutions in Kogi

The Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo paid a courtesy visit on the Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Architect Sonny Echono in his office today.

Governor Ododo said he was at TETFund to seek improved funding for tertiary institutions in Kogi State. He made specific request for the baby university in the state, Kogi State University, Kabba.

“The purpose of my visit is to appreciate the Executive Secretary and Management of TETFund for the support and consideration accorded tertiary institutions in Kogi State in the past years while also seeking for more intervention particularly for the newly established Kogi State University, Kabba.”

Governor Ododo commended TETFund for being an agency responsible for improved infrastructure, academic development and overall growth of tertiary institutions in Kogi State.

While responding to a question on the security plans especially for the institutions, Governor Ododo said “My predecessor has laid a security foundation and architecture that have proven to be potent and have brought peace and development to the state. I will improve on what is on ground in other to do better than my predecessor”.

Responding, the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Architect Sonny Echono, lauded Kogi State Government for investing heavily in education, while assuring the governor of TETFund’s continuous support for institutions in the state.

On the Governor’s entourage are Honourable Wemi Jones, Commissioner for Education; Prof. Kehinde Eniola, Vice Chancellor, Kogi State University, Kabba and Honourable Olabode Adeyemi, former Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Civil Service and Labour Matters.
